Current volunteer openings

Whether you can offer the Co-op specialist skills or general help, you'll always be welcomed as a volunteer. Below we list some of the areas for which additional volunteers are currently needed. The list is not exhaustive. Get more information about volunteering.

Co-op Café (Thursdays every 4 to 5 weeks)

Interested in volunteering with the Co-op café? Then the Help Rota has a job for YOU!

Every Thursday we are looking for volunteers to help with food preparation and other supports to the café as Marc, our chef, seeks to develop a more varied range of food options using organic and seasonal ingredients.

Premises Group

Volunteering with the premises group would especially suit individuals with building maintenance skills, experience in premises management, knowledge of green building technologies, health and safety training, etc.

The Premises group has 3 main functions:

1) Repairs, maintenance and improvements to the premises

2) Allocating space for:
    i) Producer Member stalls
    ii) storage space,
    iii) events for which the venue's various spaces can be hired

Calculating charges for i), ii) and iii) above and also for cleaning, electricity, rubbish collection, etc

3) Working with the CB on a strategy for the Co-op's premises, including identifying alternative spaces which meet our requirements and which the co-op could move into when the current lease expires in December 2011, if not renewed
