The ongoing project to construct a new area for dry goods in the front space on the left of the current Co-op entrance is entering its final stages. The move will free up part of the current main hall and make it easier to rent this space for other events. Naturally, in the spirit of the co-operative movement, the goal has been for members contribute as much skills, time, experience and sweat to the efforts as possible, helping keep costs down. We are still looking for volunteers with appropriate skills and experience to give some time toward the final push.
Please make yourself and your enthusiasm known by contacting Owenroe Lemass - orlemass@hotmail.com / 086 108 9573.

The definition of JAPAING (pronounced ja-pang) is a simple one. It's a verb, noun and a feeling all at once. It's a very specific kind of awesome, mostly derived from Asian culture, such as movies and games. It's about ass-kickery, brilliant storylines, outrageous statements and life affirming goals and messages. Films that make your jaw drop and your brain think.

The Newmarket Brocante is a new Sunday event at the Dublin Food Co-op venue and a place for you to find (and sell) pre-loved furniture and homewear. Second-hand, refurbished, antique and hand-crafted stuff for your house, kitchen and garden. Bargains, freebies, café, good wholesome food and chilled out tunes all under the one roof.
What's that 'brocante' buzz? It's a french thing: the French are mad for their furniture fairs, amongst other things. We're just borrowing their term for it and giving it a spin of our own.
